Corin Mackenzie

RTC-C/ Owner

Welcome!

My name is Corin Mackenzie and I am a registered counselling therapist candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists. I have a BArts degree from St. Mary's University (2008), Early Childhood Education Diploma (2018), and a MArts in Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University (2024).

Is life overwhelming you? I can help! As a mother of 3 I understand that life can be complicated, messy, and overwhelming. Sometimes the past can come back to haunt us, sometimes events stack up on each other till its a toppling tower, sometimes we just need to talk to someone   understanding and non-judgmental. Sometimes we get stuck in our emotions, thoughts, and/or behaviors and need someone to help us create new routines.

I employ an approach that is tailored to the individual and that can stem in multiple therapy approaches. These approaches are founded in Cognitive Behavioral ideology with person-centered approach. Some of the main therapies I use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. I believe that the client is the authority on their own story and so I aim to work collaboratively with clients to find the best way forward. I aim to meet the client where they are in the stages of change and aim to support them in a safe space free from judgement. I work with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and general difficulties in life that require support in a safe therapeutic setting.

If this sounds like a good fit I look forward to working with you!
